Douglas Lake
Douglas Lake, TN is a TVA(Tennessee Valley Authority) reservoir
stretching through 43 scenic miles of East
Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains foothills. Formed from the French
Broad River and its tributaries of the Nolichucky and Pigeon
Rivers. Douglas Lake has 30,400 acres of water surface and 555
miles of shoreline. A short
drive east of Knoxville and minutes from Sevierville,
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Douglas Lake attracts more than
1.7 million recreation visits per year and provides year-round
fishing opportunities resulting in Douglas Lake's
being rated as one of the top 5 Crappie
lakes in the
nation
and one of
the top 10 in the nation for Largemouth Bass. While
March & April days provide some of the best Crappie & Bass
fishing of the year, night trips for Bass or Crappie during the
months of June, July and August are very popular. Bluegill
fishing is great from mid-May thru Sept. 1. Spectacular
Smoky Mountains fall foliage
surrounds the lake in October, the great Crappie and Bass fishing
available then continues thru Feb. Come enjoy both the scenery
