East Tennessee Fishing Guide David Berry
Smokies Angling Adventures makes fishing more fun than ever
by Laura Long

seviercountynewsIf you're looking for an exciting way to experience the great fishing and beautiful scenery in East Tennessee, you'll want to meet David "Captain" Berry of Smokies Angling Adventures Guide Service and his U.S. Coast Guard certified guides.

On your pontoon or bass boat trip for a full day or half a day (up to four people), you can bring your own equipment or let Berry provide the rods, reels, bait and tackle as needed.

Berry says his love for fishing started when he was just a boy.

"My love for the outdoors started when I was fairly young," Berry said. "I would spend every spare moment I had fishing the Holston River, or hunting small game around my home. My family owned a place on Douglas Lake, where I also spent countless hours fishing, and boating with family, and friends."

Berry purchased his first boat when I was around 18 years old,and fishing grew to be his passion from there. He started with a small 12-ft. v-bottom fiberglass boat, and gradually worked his way up to the ZX225 and I-Class 20i models of the Skeeter boat line, among the top of the line bass boats.

"My interest in fishing competitively really intensified after joining a local B.A.S.S. Federation bass club," he says. "We fished something like 12 to 14 tournaments per year. After doing fairly well at the club tournaments, I moved on to the next level, fishing the Reeder Chevrolet Tournament Trail, Norriscraft Open Tournaments, and then on to the Red Man Series competing for a chance to reach one of the premier tournaments, The Red Man All-American."

Berry says he uses all his experience in operating Smokies Angling Adventures Guide Service. His goal is to provide fishing enthusiasts with first class service where the safety and satisfaction of his clients comes first.

"I do everything I can to make sure they enjoy their time out on the water, so they can enjoy the great fishing, and beautiful scenery we have in our area," Berry said. "I have over 15 years experience fishing local lakes as well as many others in the Southeastern U.S., and I provide trips for everyone, from beginners looking for instructional teaching to the serious angler."

Berry says he loves giving people a chance to experience what he also loves to do: catching fish and spending time in the great outdoors.
